Environmental Health Safety Emergency Preparedness Specialist
The Environmental Health, Safety & Emergency Preparedness Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance, safety, and preparedness across the organization in an actionable manner. This role develops and implements policies and programs to proactively promote workplace safety, emergency readiness, regulatory compliance and overall organizational resilience. Develops and maintains emergency preparedness plans, conducts safety assessments risk assessments and rounds, chairs and/or assists in applicable local and network committees, collaborates with internal and external partners, leads training sessions, performs project risk assessments, keeps applicable permits in good standing, conducts audits and other means of checks and balances. Manages compliance with regulatory entities such as OSHA, NIMS, DNV, DHS, AHJ, EPA, ADEQ, Maricopa County, CMS as well as other federal and local entities. All additional responsibilities will include coordinating local and occasionally network-level regulatory derived safety committees, compiling and reporting on appropriate metrics and significant collaboration with internal and external partners. Continual analysis of data/metrics, results, potential forecasts to consistently improve policy practice to proactively minimize risk and enhance overall workplace safety and resilience. Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in a complimentary field. - Preferred
- Bachelor's degree or 4 years' work-related experience. - Required
- Minimum 4 years of experience in emergency management, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field. - Required
- 5 years including work in a medical care setting or similar environment, with exposure to regulatory compliance, risk management, or safety programs. - Preferred
- Driver’s License - Required
- Certified Emergency Manager (CEM), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), ICS Instructor Certification, or prior Law Enforcement or Fire Experience - Preferred
- ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 700 certifications - Required
- Obtain PDS and APS within One Year of Hire
- RCRA, DOT certifications within One Year of Hire
